Venus Reawakening
A lot can change in a year. As I reflect on my journey, I realized how much I have grown. I am trying new things, being open to new ideas, and accepting this new version of myself. I created this piece to illustrate my growth into this next chapter of my life. The petals of my former life peel away, allowing the new me to shine and light up the room. It's not perfect, but neither am I.
The title of the piece has a deeper and more personal meaning. When I first started dating my husband, he gave me a watch with Botticelli's Birth of Venus on it. I was nearly brought to tears because he saw me as beautiful, beautiful as a goddess. The next chapter of my life, I want to reawaken my inner beauty, my inner goddess, and allow it shine, to glow, to radiate.
